Sun Farm was inspired by the holistic model of eastern philosophies and contemporary system theory, in the tenet that humans and the environment are part of an interconnected complex system, the universe. This connectedeness is manifested between the body and mind, humans and nature, earth and sky, space and time. At Sun Farm the shaping of the land and the architectural events are integrated with meditation, breathing and movement practices. Art / architecture /landscape become a means of interpreting celestial events and experiential places for the body, mind and spirit. Art becomes a participatory event leading to a spiritual experience, where the observer is led by views of the sky in the Sun's daily path/cycle. Walking along the path will provide a different layer of interpretation, as a walking meditation, with a direct experience of the metaphors of spirals / time / sun path / life. |
